The district of Aumont-Aubrac
The district of Aumont-Aubrac lies in the north-west of the Lozere departement, on the edge of the picturesque granite mountains of the Margeride and the immense basalt plateaux of the Aubrac.
It comprises six villages : Aumont-Aubrac, Le Fau-de-Peyre, Javols, La chaze-de-Peyre, Saint-Sauveur-de-Peyre and Sainte-Colombe-de-Peyre.
In 1997 the six villages came together to form the Communauté de Communes de la Terre de Peyre.
